Who is Alice Ibarra?

“Alice Ibarra* is not real, she is a ficticious character created to give these songs a home — a fully imagined world, sound and identity that the right real-life artist can step into and make entirely their own.

Her story? 21 years old. Born and raised in Tarifa —the ancient town at the very tip of southern Spain, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean.

The daughter of a British rock guitarist and a deeply rooted Andalusian mother from a family steeped in flamenco tradition. Two cultures. Two musical worlds. One voice.
The fully realised persona at the creative heart of The Alice Ibarra Project —a Songcraft Music initiative.

HER STORY

Alice grew up in Tarifa — the southernmost point of Spain, where the Atlantic and Mediterranean collide. The daughter of Danny, a British rock guitarist drawn south by flamenco, and Pili, from a family steeped in Andalusian musical tradition.

She is joyful, direct, confident. She carries both worlds in everything she does — the grit of 70s rock from her father’s vinyl collection, the fire of flamenco from her mother’s family, and a natural modern pop instinct that is entirely her own.

The Sound — Latin Soul Rock

Latin — Spanish guitar, flamenco rhythm, Andalusian soul. The colour beneath every melody.
Soul — Emotional depth, blues warmth, expressive directness. The engine of every song.
Pop/Rock — 70s/80s grit, real instruments, big melodies with contemporary pop & dance production.

Think Stevie Nicks meets Sabrina meets Rosalía,Shakira meets Dua Lipa, Gloria Estefan meets Olivia Rodrigo. Think Fleetwood Mac filtered through Tarifa at golden hour. Big melodies, real instruments, Andalusian colour — and a great voice right at the centre of it.

What We Are Looking For

This is not your usual audition process. We are not looking for perfection. We are looking for truth — a voice and a person who embodies everything Alice Ibarra represents.

Someone who makes these songs feel like they were always theirs.

And if you too are a songwriter – Great! We would love to hear your own material and, if suitable, your songs could earn their place on the album.

THE VOICE

Warm, expressive, emotionally direct. Capable of the blues depth these songs demand and with a modern pop approach. Not necessarily classically trained — but authentic and compelling. A voice you remember.

THE PRESENCE

Confident, joyful, naturally magnetic. Alice is not tortured or performatively cool — she is fully herself, and that is what makes her appealing.

THE CONNECTION

A genuine feeling for the music — the Latin colour, the rock grit, the soul depth and, most importantly, the pop vibe. Not necessarily Spanish heritage, but a real emotional connection to what these songs are saying.

THE COMMITMENT

This is a serious long-term project with a funding campaign, full album, and professional recording already in plan. We need someone ready to invest in this project for real.

THE AGE

The character of Alice is 21. We are looking for someone broadly in that range, 18-26 — young, emerging, unsigned. An artist whose best work, like these songs, is still ahead of them.

THE NAME

You will perform entirely as yourself. Alice Ibarra is just the blueprint — the songs, the world, the vision. The voice is yours, the future is yours.

The Opportunity — What You Get

THE SOUND - LATIN SOUL ROCK

Full artist credit — Your name will be on every release. This is your career, your story — the songs simply give you the stage.
Professionally recorded debut — A fully funded debut single and up to four other tracks — real studios, real session musicians, properly produced.
A fully built world — Your own identity, press materials, biography, photos, social presence
Music video — A debut music video is budgeted within the campaign. Your face. Your performance. A proper launch.
Interim management — Songcraft Music will act as your interim manager — actively pitching your recordings to record companies, publishers and management companies on your behalf. We work the industry contacts so you can focus on the music. Everything is agreed upfront in a clear, fair contract. Our role is to open the right doors until the right professional deal is in place.
Documentary Film – The pilot film, “Finding Alice”, is in production, a second documentary is planned which will feature our succesful applicant.
Long-term partnership — The full album “A New Beginning” follows. Phase Two funding is already in planning. This is just the beginning!

How to Apply

The search happens in two stages. We keep Stage 1 as simple as possible — all we need is your voice. Stage 2 is by invitation only.

STAGE 1 - OPEN CALL

Record yourself singing any song of your choice — no longer than two minutes. A phone recording in a quiet room is perfectly fine. We want to hear your voice, not your production setup.

We listen to every single submission. We are not looking for perfection. We are looking for truth.

STAGE 2 - BY INVITATION

Singers who impress us at Stage 1 will be contacted personally by one of the team.

Shortlisted singers receive the exclusive backing track to the debut single “Forever” and are invited to record themselves singing over it. That recording becomes their formal audition for The Alice Ibarra Project.

Stage 1 is about voice quality, emotional range and personality. Stage 2 is about connection to the actual music. Two different things, assessed at two different points.
